Get Yourself On A Low Carb Diet, ASAP!
The low carb diet trend
The low carb diet that most people have tried and lost weight with had results that only lasted until they went back to their normal diet and ended up gaining even more weight back. So what does the future have in store for the low carb diet?
As the trend of low carb diets is dying down, something else is taking its place. That's right, the idea of a low carb lifestyle is catching on. Many people have finally realized that an intense and quick fix low carb diet does not produce the kind of benefits that a person can reap for long. But what can they do to keep themselves in tip top shape over the course of years, not weeks?
Re-evaluating the low carb diet
The best thing to have come out of the low carb diet craze is all of the research that has been done on the topic. It has helped shape a better understanding of what the ideal low carb diet, or low carb lifestyle, should entail. Concentrating on severely limiting one's carb intake while at the same time eating endless amounts of fat does not do a body good, even if you do lose a few pounds right away. And with most of the popular low carb diets, the type of carb that should be eaten was not even an issue, but now it is.
The problem was never all carbohydrates, or having the right carb counter, it was the kind as well as the amount of carbs that most people consume. Many of us were eating diets that were chock-full of simple carbs, which are essentially empty calories. Combine that with the fact that the vast majority of us do nothing in the way of exercise and we've got ourselves a recipe for obesity - on a huge scale. What we need to do is shift the focus to good low carb foods instead of acting hastily and drastically.
Summing up the low carb diet outlook
So, instead of treating this holistically, most diets have concentrated solely on quick weight loss of a few pounds by severely restricting carb intake. This has not even come close to solving the problem or even making it better, it has done the opposite.
We will be hearing more and more about the benefits of a diet that is concerned with changing eating habits altogether and concentrating on getting our carbs from things like whole grains and vegetables. This will surely be combined with an increased emphasis on the necessity for all of us to integrate exercise into our daily life. We do not only need to be a thinner society, we need to be a healthier one. So before you embrace everything about a low carbohydrate diet, think big picture.
